Agri-Business Creation (ABC)
Many farmers with creative agricultural practices, which can help alleviate famine and poverty, seek opportunities to bring their projects to fruition.
ABC coached emerging agri-entrepreneurs through training and mentoring them, and supporting their business plans. This resulted in rapid job creation and agri-entrepreneurship development. In collaboration with financial institutions, loans were provided for start-ups, which empowered local entrepreneurs to embrace new economic opportunities.
Establishing business support centres and improving organised value chains generated fresh agricultural initiatives that have brought Yemen, South Sudan, and Burundi closer towards overcoming food insecurity. High-quality food products and other natural, nutritious items became available to entire communities, while agri-entrepreneurs who provide them became financially independent.
