On April 25, the Palestine Launchpad with Google community gathered at Palestine Techno Park for a Graduation Ceremony and Networking Event that brought together Cohort 5 graduates, Cohort 6 learners, alumni, and industry experts.
The event celebrated the achievements of Cohort 5 while creating space for providing guidance on employment through industry-led panel discussions and career-mapping workshops about opportunities in Palestine’s growing tech sector.
Celebrating Cohort 5
The ceremony recognised the dedication of more than 400 Cohort 5 graduates who successfully completed Nanodegree programs in fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Web Development, and Data Analysis.
For many participants, the day marked an important milestone, transitioning from structured Nanodegree learning into the next stage of their professional journey.
Insights into the tech job market
A panel discussion titled “From Skills to Employment: Navigating Tech Recruitment in Palestine and Beyond” brought together leaders from the tech ecosystem to discuss hiring trends and industry expectations.
Speakers highlighted the importance of combining strong technical skills with problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and real-world project experience, while also exploring opportunities in remote work and global tech markets.
Strengthening professional networks
The event also featured a structured networking session that encouraged graduates, learners, and industry professionals to exchange experiences, discuss their technical interests, and build meaningful connections.
These interactions help strengthen the Palestine Launchpad community and support participants as they navigate the next steps in their careers.
Mapping the next career step
The program concluded with an interactive workshop, “Your Tech Career Blueprint, Mapping Your Journey,” which provided participants with practical guidance on building a career in tech.
Through the session, attendees explored the differences between remote employment and freelancing, assessed their current skills, and developed a 30-day action plan to help accelerate their job search.
A growing community of Palestinian tech talent
Since its launch in 2023, the Palestine Launchpad with Google program has supported thousands of Palestinian tech professionals in developing in-demand digital skills and advancing their careers in the tech sector. Today, the program has engaged more than 2,700 learners and over 2,150 graduates, with over 280 secured jobs/ internships, helping strengthen the pipeline of tech talent in Palestine.
The program is implemented by SPARK, in collaboration with Udacity and powered by Google. Through industry-relevant Nanodegree programs, mentorship, and community engagement, Palestine Launchpad connects learners with practical training and professional networks that support their continued growth in the tech ecosystem.
