Driving Saudi Arabia’s tourism vision forward

For many years, tourism in Saudi Arabia remained largely unexplored. Today, the Kingdom is opening its doors to the world, showcasing its incredible diversity and beauty. Among the new generation leading this transformation is Fahad Ammar, one of the participants in the Maharat for Tourism programme, who is dedicated to supporting the Kingdom’s ambitious vision for the future.

A passion aligned with the national vision

“I studied, graduated, and dedicated my time, life, efforts, and work to be a positive contribution and an active member in supporting the Kingdom’s Vision for 2030 and the vision of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman.”

For Fahad, Saudi Arabia represents far more than its well-known religious landmarks. The country is home to a rich cultural heritage, diverse natural landscapes, and breathtaking beaches. A combination that makes it one of the world’s most promising tourism destinations.

Learning through Maharat for Tourism

Through the Maharat for Tourism programme, implemented by SPARK with support from Google.org, Fahad deepened his understanding of how to create meaningful and satisfying experiences for visitors and policies that align with the 2030 vision.

The programme taught me how to ensure visitor satisfaction. It helped me understand what makes tourists feel welcome, and how we can make Saudi Arabia their preferred and lasting destination.

The practical online courses and learning modules offered through the Maharat for Tourism online platform provided Fahad with the tools and knowledge to contribute effectively to the country’s growing tourism sector.

Shaping the future of Saudi tourism

Fahad is part of a new wave of professionals shaping the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the economy and position Saudi Arabia as a global tourism hub. His enthusiasm reflects the optimism of a generation determined to redefine how the world sees Saudi Arabia.

Tourism in Saudi Arabia was long overlooked, but now is the time to change that perception. Through Maharat for Tourism, I’ve learned how to play my part in this transformation.
