Join us: #UniteToProtect education under attack
September 9th 2020 marks the first international UN day to #ProtectEducationFromAttack. Join us and our partner, Education Above All, to #UniteToProtect education!
An attack on education today impacts the future of generations to come. We live in a new reality that highlights just how vulnerable education is. Global collaboration is needed to reimagine, adapt and rebuild education systems to become more innovative and resilient.
This is not just another day on the UN calendar. Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of EAA and UN Sustainable Development Goals Advocate, is calling today on world leaders to place the protection of education at the top of the global agenda.
Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of EAA and UN Sustainable Development Goals Advocate: “Amid this global pandemic, it is vital to ensure that the diseases of armed conflict and illiteracy that were prevalent before do not spread further. That is why I am pleased that the General Assembly has recognised the significance of this urgent issue and established an International Day to Protect Education from Attack. Our challenge now, as an international community, is to translate our vision of education for all from political will into real change on the ground.”
