€5,000 Research Funding from SPARK

SPARK’s Research Competition deadline is only a few weeks away!

To accompany our up-and-coming IGNITE! conference this November, SPARK is launching a research competition. This year we are asking talented and ambitious current and recent postgraduate students to write a research proposal focusing on a state of their choice focusing on the theme ‘Doing Business in Fragile States’.

Last year’s competition was a huge success; we received a wide range of stimulating, creative and insightful proposals. Our 2014 winners were Roxana Romanica and Bogdan Romanica who authored the winning research proposal entitled ‘Personal Social Networks Management for Business Development in Conflict Affected States’. Roxana and Bogdan completed their research in Kosovo using case studies of 10 small businesses who began during or after the conflict in Kosovo. Don’t miss Roxana and Bogdan giving a presentation on their research findings at this year’s IGNITE! Conference.

The winner of this year’s IGNITE! Research competition will receive the same prize as 2014: 5000 in research funding from SPARK and monitoring from the prestigious University of Amsterdam Business School.

In order to enter this competition, it is requested that applicants send in a research proposal of 2,000 words. We are especially interested in research related to: Yemen, South Sudan, Burundi, Liberia, Occupied Palestinian Territories, and Syria. Research must be on topics in these countries, or other countries, with an option to compare with one of these countries will be considered.

To apply for the Research Competition, send your research proposal together with your CV and a scanned copy of your undergraduate diploma to spark@spark-online.org and v.halepovic@spark-online.org before November 2nd 2015.
