For the first time, SPARK is joining forces with DIHAD to bring it's internationally known IGNITE Conference to DIHAD.

The 19th edition of the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid & Development (DIHAD) event is held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai. The event serves the International Humanitarian Aid and Development Community in the Middle East, Africa and the world. This year’s theme is ‘Energy and Aid; capitalising on available resources’.

Tuesday 14 March, IGNITE at DIHAD hosts a session on Green Entrepreneurship, which highlights the urgent need for stronger support for startups and SMEs to ‘go green’. The green sector is a high growth sector which is predicted to generate millions of jobs in the near future.

IGNITE at DIHAD hears from green businesses and experts throughout the Middle East on green transformation, such as shifting to green energy, investing in greener production lines and using recycled inputs. It focuses on how startups and SMEs in the green sector, for example green tech businesses, are solving challenges in access to finance and capacity building to create new, sustainable jobs that are needed the most in fragile and conflict-affected regions.
