Shema Pacifique is one of the founders of San Tech Ltd., which specialises in tech services like web design and software publishing. The company received training and mentorship through the digital acceleration programme by SPARK and Youth Business International (YBI).
With the outbreak of COVID-19, the company wanted to use their skills to support their community through the pandemic. Pacifique and his team noticed that many people still often use physical registration (writing using a pen and paper) when checking into hotels or signing up for goods and services. They came up with a plan to remove physical touchpoints for consumers in order to limit the spread of the virus from person to person.
San Tech has recently launched its prototype software, which scans identity cards and barcodes, that can be used by hotels, libraries, institutions, bars and other customer-facing organisations. Now the company is sourcing raw materials and investment capital to officially launch the product.
