Senior Accountant – SERBIA

Senior Accountant is based at SPARK Belgrade, supports Spark finance team, and reports to Head of Finance.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process for specific SPARK offices.
- Perform closing activities at month-end, quarter-end, and year-end.
- Ensure financial statements are accurate, in line with RJ 650, and compliant with internal policies.
- Manage and conduct regular reconciliations of the balance sheet, including bank reconciliations, accruals, and creditors for all SPARK administrations
- Lead the intercompany reconciliation process between SPARK’s regional administrations.
- Manage income and balance sheet accounts.
- Oversee the general ledger for all SPARK administrations.
- Consolidate SPARK’s accounts and participate in preparing management reports.
- Verify, post, and reconcile staff cost allocations for EU administration.
- Prepare fixed asset depreciation and maintain inventory lists.
- Assist Global Finance Manager and FAOs in bookkeeping and financial management.
- Prepare and coordinate the SPARK’s Annual Account audit and assist in SPARK’s project audits.
- Provide training and share functional knowledge across SPARK’s teams.
Requirements and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration
- At least 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within international environment
- Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
- MS Excel proficiency
- Knowledge of bookkeeping software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining financial records and following procedures
- Able to understand a financial statement
- Good oral and written language skills in English required.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Legally permitted to work in Serbia
