In every line of code lies the potential to shape tomorrow’s world

With a mission to spread coding and robotics education, Ralph and Hussein, both aged 21, co-founded RobotX. Joining the Startup Roadshow 4 competition, the paid secured mentorship, skills and funding, propelling them to the top 10 startups.

In Lebanon, where access to digital technology education remains a luxury and where young people’s career prospects are limited by the ongoing economic crisis, entrepreneurs, Ralph Rahal and Hussein Husseiny, are providing opportunities for young people.

The pair envisioned a future where every child, regardless of circumstance, could delve into the world of coding and robotics. Understanding the important role of technology in future global job markets, as well as the career opportunities that tech skills can offer jobseekers, the two young men founded RobotX.

RobotX offers an accessible curriculum of coding, artificial intelligence, application and game development, robotics and virtual reality courses for tech-savvy children aged 5 and over. The blended learning academy is delivered by experienced and passionate educators and the company’s healthy learning environment is designed to inspire creativity, critical thinking and collaboration among its young learners.

The founders mission came into a breakthrough moment when they participated in the Startup Roadshow 4 competition by SPARK and Jusoor, supported by the Islamic Development Bank and the Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Foundation as part of the Skills, Training and Education Programme. The startup programme provided invaluable resources, networks and mentorship to the founders, propelling RobotX from an idea to reality.

Amidst competition in the Roadshow 4 competition held in Amman, RobotX were among the top 10 winning startups. Throughout their journey with Jusoor, they underwent an incubation phase for over 6-7 months, marked by relentless dedication and 1-on-1 mentorship.

“Startups in Lebanon face a challenge of [lack of] mentorship. It is not easy to start [a business] without guidance that allows us to know what steps we need to take, to keep going forward… During the incubation and mentorship with Jusoor, we were able to take our idea into reality, without this opportunity we wouldn’t be here.”

Ralph and Hussein not only dream of creating a business, but they remain steadfast in their vision for children throughout Lebanon and the MENA region to learn from RobotX programmes, grow and become leaders in the tech industry.
