GuideMe – a new way to study during COVID-19
Abdulrahman Haddad, a former scholarship-holder, recently graduated. With the outbreak of coronavirus and the lockdowns preventing students from studying, taking exams and attending classes, Haddad decided to fast-track his plans to launch a digital learning platform.
Haddad took economic empowerment courses as part of his scholarship, which gave him some basic business tools. After quickly conducting a market needs assessment, Haddad found that the desire for online learning tools has dramatically increased since the COVID-19 lockdown.
“Since summer is just around the corner, many students will graduate soon and they need training for their last semester. If we can help them, their average GPA will increase and they will have a higher chance to get accepted for Master’s scholarships.”
With the support of hired digital developers, Haddad launched his new company, GuideMe, this week. It is a student-led initiative, where academic high-achievers offer support to their fellow undergraduates.
