EU Liberia Agriculture Programme (EULAP)
SPARK aims to develop strong agri-entrepreneurs and businesses working in nutrition-rich farming sectors in 7 of Liberia’s countries, in order to tackle food insecurity and malnutrition. Liberia’s agricultural sector holds great potential for economic growth, but profits are currently limited because of gaps in value chains, such as cassava, pineapple, plantain, Moringa and legumes (cowpea and peanut).
With entrepreneurship education and skills training, business ideation and accelerator programmes, improving entrepreneur’s access to finance, SPARK will promote the productivity and sustainability of smallholder farmers. A revolving loan fund will be established in order to support startups.
SPARK is partnering up with Welthungerhilfe, Concern Worldwide and ZOA in a consortium on this programme.
