Access to education is essential for every young person.
However, due to the decade-long ongoing civil war in Syria, many Syrian youth between 16 and 30 years old have faced interruptions to their studies and face huge challenges to complete or continue it.
SPARK, the Islamic Development Bank and the Sheikh Abdullah Al Nouri Charity Society support Syrian youth in Syrian Interim Government controlled territories, as well as young Syrian refugees in Lebanon, Turkey, Jordan, and Iraq (including KR-I). The programme provides vocational education, job skills training and builds capacities of vocation institutions and Syrian organisations. Entrepreneurial youth also receive assistance with their business ideas, including the provision of small startup grants.
