Generous €1m donation from Dutch Postcode Loterij
SPARK is proud to have received a grant of 1 million euro during the Goed Geld Gala last week in Amsterdam, to support Syrian refugees through economic empowerment and business opportunities in the Middle East. SPARK would like to thank the Dutch Postcode Lottery (Nationale Postcode Loterij) and its participants for this amazing opportunity.

The grant will enable us to support Syrian youth in countries such as Lebanon, Turkey and Jordan, in starting their own business and creating jobs. SPARK provides a wide range of training programmes and services for new entrepreneurs: from business plan writing to management skills, from marketing to access to finance. By coaching and staying in close contact with these young and ambitious entrepreneurs, they can create employment opportunities – for themselves and others.
The Nationale Postcode Loterij has been contributing to humanitarian and development aid for many years now. Thanks to the 2.9 million participants, the revenue of the Nationale Postcode Loterij increased to 715 million euro last year. Since the lottery gives half of its revenue away to good causes, this amount also increased by 16 million euro, so that 357 million euro from the lottery has been donated to 122 organisations. Since its inception, a total of 5.4 billion euro has been donated to good causes. An overview of all the donations can be seen on the the website of the Nationale Postcode Loterij.
