European Union
The European Union provides funding support through its wide range of instruments and programmes contributing to development cooperation and its neighbourhood’s stabilisation, security and prosperity. In this sense and over past 15 years, the European Union has been an important partner to SPARK, working with us as early as 2004.
In the Western Balkans, the EU worked with SPARK via its EU Tempus programme, while in Rwanda and Liberia, the EU supported entrepreneurship development through training, coaching and access to finance. In Iraq (KR-I), Jordan, Lebanon, Syria (SIG) and Turkey, the EU supports SPARK via the EU MADAD Trust Fund for Syria and the Delegation of the EU to Turkey. SPARK appreciates the EU’s on-going support and policy implementation in fragile and conflict-affected environments.
