Read SPARK’s survey on business barrier removal

In 2013, SPARK conducted a large survey with 900 SPARK-assisted business owners to evaluate the effectiveness of SPARK’s small- and medium-enterprise interventions. One of the main recommendations which arose from this survey was the need for a panel of entrepreneurs who could be monitored, consulted and interviewed regularly on a variety of issues.

Taking on board this feedback, SPARK established a panel of 550 members. This paper, written by SPARK’s Survey Project Manager Jos Winters, is a follow-up survey conducted with 240 randomly selected business owners from the five MFSII countries: occupied Palestine territories, North and South Kosovo, Burundi, Rwanda, and Liberia. The publication serves to establish the most important business barriers, explore the practice of inclusiveness, and identify key lobby and advocacy actors when dealing with FCAS SME owners.
